One more cool tutorial su Photoshop CS3 has been written by Edoardo Gioè.
Once we saw using the pen tool in Photoshop CS3, how to create illustrations and how to use clipping mask, in this new tutorial we will examine how to create an interesting eye effect by manipulating a photograph.
We will manipulate a simple photo of an eye.
We will start with this photo:

The first thing we will do is make a duplicate of the layer containing this photo by pressing CTRL+J on the keyboard (with the layer selected).
We will then create a lighting effect by opening up Filter -> Render -> Lighting Effects.
In this panel we will create an Omni-light and make it a little bit bigger than the eye area, we will center it on the eye itself.
We will then create another omni light and resize it so it is a little bit smaller than the iris, center it and press “OK”.

What we want to do now is drag our initial layer above our current and change the blending mode to multiply in the layers panel, this will make the image look like this:

We will now merge the two layers by selecting both in the layers panel and hitting CTRL+E on the keyboard.
We will now use the “Dodge Tool” (O on the keyboard) and start drawing inside the iris until we obtain the following effect:

While certainly already disturbing, it’s still not enough.
Select the “Burn Tool” in the tools palette and start drawing the outline of the iris.
This process will darken the whole eye:

We can then freely choose to further use the Burn Tool to darken other areas of the image.
It would be a good idea to also use it to create some makeup on the eyes and darken the eyelashes and eyebrows.
It looks good already, but we want it to look really scary.
So what we do is keep using the burn tool with a very soft brush applied to it (I used a 300px round brush with a blur effect applied to it) to draw around the eye area until it becomes completely black and only the eye itself is left:

Now that’s scary!
You can now duplicate this layer and bring up the free transform box by pressing CTRL+T on the keyboard and then flip it horizontally by right-clicking inside the free transform box and selecting: “flip horizontal”.
We can then align this copy next to the original layer and make it look like there is someone staring at us from the computer screen:

And there you have it! Scary eyes for you.
