Store Locator

Ciao a tutti !

FlepStudio has created a new free utility for Flash CS3-CS4.

Its name is Store Locator.

It's a world map where you can add stores.

Very easy to manage.

Included files

- main.fla

- package org.FlepStudio: Main.as, Navigation.as, Results.as, SubNavigation.as,

XMLoader.as

- package tween.transitions ( do not modify them! )

- continents.xml ( do not modify )

- states.xml ( do not modify )

- distributors.xml ( insert the stores )

Installation

1. Open main.fla and org/FlepStudio/XMLoader.as

2. At line 21, 22 and 23 you have to insert the right paths pointing the XML files.

For example, if main.swf will stay in the same folder of the XML files, you don't need

to change them.

Otherwise, set an absolute url that points to XML files.

3. Re-create main.swf using main.fla

4. Upload main.swf, continents.xml, states.xml and distributors.xml

Adding stores to countries

It's very simple.

All you need to do is understand that each node "RECORD" of distributors.xml is a

store and it contains the informations about that store.

For example, the following node is a store located in Italy.

It also has more informations like the name of the store ( denomination node ),

address, city, zip, phone, fax and email.

At the moment I have inserted sample stores as you can see into distributors.xml file.

Now, if you want add a store just add a node like that into distributors.xml file.

IMPORTANT: idState value is required. You can find the countries list in states.xml

file ( idContinent node ).

That way you can add/remove any store of your client.
